Apple iPhone 4 Is Now Official

Steve Jobs today introduced the new iPhone 4 at WWDC 2010 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. The iPhone 4 features a new design with both a glass front and back, and stainless steel edging, which actually functions as part of the antenna. The handset also measures at just 9.3mm thick, which is 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS.

The new iPhone 4 boasts a 960 x 640 resolution display, offering a 326-pixel-per-inch density – “more than limit of the human retina,” according to Jobs. The new model is powered by Apple’s own A4 power-efficient processor, which should give the new phone a speed boost over the 3GS and a longer battery life. The new iPhone is powered by a 5-megapixel digital camera with an LED flash on the back and a front-facing camera for video calls. The main camera is able to record 720p HD videos at 30fps.

What’s more, the new iPhone 4 uses the iPhone OS 4 or also known as the “iOS 4″. The new operating system provides more than 100 new features and allows you to access the Apple iBook store, and share your books between your iPhone, iPad and iPod. Other important specs include an accelerometer, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi (802.11n), GPS navigation with compass, a 32GB max storage, UMTS/GSM and Quad-band HSDPA/HSUPA (7.2Mbps down/5.8Mbps up).

The iPhone 4 will be available on June 24, 2010 in both white and black cases. The 16GB and 32GB models are priced at $199 and $299, respectively. You should be able to order the iPhone 4 over at the Apple Store starting on June 15th, 2010.
